Welcome to Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, Inc. We are 501(c)(3) non-profit, all-volunteer organization. We consist of a group of dedicated greyhound adopters and interested volunteers who work hard to educate people about retired racing greyhounds.......And we love what we do!!

Because we focus on doing what we love (working with greyhounds), we choose as our goal to foster good will and cooperation between all parties working on behalf of greyhounds. If you are interested in adopting a greyhound and want to learn more about them, we will be happy to help you learn more about the breed and determine if a greyhound is the right dog for your family. We have provided lots of information on our web site. Everything we do is because of the greyhounds; it is what they deserve. We work hard so that we will be worthy to have them grace our lives.

We love greyhounds. We didn't pick them; they picked us. We all have very different stories about how greyhounds came into our lives, but we have one thing in common - we are all better people because we have been adopted by a greyhound. We all have greyhounds in our homes and we honor them for their quiet, gentle nature and their loving hearts. We have had many experiences in our lives that brought us together and we could bore you for hours about it. However, of all the causes we've taken up, we find the greyhound to be the most honorable.

Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, Inc. was established in April 2005 and our main goal at that time was to find forever homes for greyhounds. We have since changed our focus to finding homes for the "hard to place" dogs (older, infirm, behavior issues, etc.) because we find that many of these dogs make wonderful pets in the right home environment and with the right people who know how special they are. Our work involves educating the public about the breed and ensuring that anyone who adopts a dog from our group understands and accepts the responsibility it takes to have a greyhound. Everything we do is centered around doing what is best for each dog; no amount of work is too hard.

We encourage anyone who is interested in the work we do to volunteer to help us in our efforts. We also invite anyone who has adopted a greyhound (no matter who you adopted it from) to join us in activities we sponsor. We do not turn people away! There is a special connection between people who have opened their hearts and homes to greyhounds and we enjoy sharing that experience. We treat people with dignity and respect as that is how we like to be treated! It's all about the greyhounds!

Make the choice to have one greyhound in your life and you will understand why we do what we do. Those of us who work at Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue, Inc. all agree that it's not about us, it's about the greyhounds. We leave it up to others to struggle over the issues concerning the pros and cons of greyhound racing, competition over who is the best in the adoption world, and what is the best way to run an organization. To us, greyhound rescue is NOT a competitive sport!!

If you agree with our mission and are interested in helping our group, we are always happy to accept new volunteers who share our vision. We only ask that your willingness to help involves doing the "in the trenches" work we need. We are most in need of people who are experienced and dog savvy to do short term fostering. We need RELIABLE foster homes and that means that you must be available to take a dog when we need you. If you have experience and would like to help us, you can submit a Volunteer Application.
